JONATHAN DANIELS CLIMBING GYM- Thu. June
17: Fri. June 18: 2-4 P.M. Cost: $18 person The climbing gym is a great place to try out the popular sport of
climbing. There are over 20 climbs from easy to very difficult. The Dartmouth Mountaineering Club will be on hand
to instruct and demonstrate. • What to Wear: Loose fitting clothing. •
What to Bring: A thin pair of socks to wear with climbing shoes (which will be supplied).
CAMPUS BIRD-WATCHING WALK–Wed. June 15: Sat. June 18: 8-10 A.M. Cost: $12/person Listen
and observe birds in the nature areas in and around campus. Bill Shepard, noted ornithologist and author of “Bird
Trail of the Upper Valley”, will be leading bird walks. Trips will leave from reunion headquarters for a two hour
birding experience.
CANOES/KAYAKS Canoes/Kayaks are available from the Ledyard Canoe Club to rent

MOUNTAIN BIKING There are two different suppliers
that rent adult size mountain bicycles and helmets. To rent a bicycle, please contact the suppliers directly.
A limited number of bikes are available. The supplier you select, will provide all the necessary information including
where to pick-up your bike. You will pay the supplier directly. Suppliers: Dartmouth Outdoor Programs: 603-646-2428. Price $20 per 24 hours

REUNION RUN - Sunday June 19-8:00 a.m. (sharp)– Free to Run (T-shirts $10 each) Join
your classmates and friends for a run around Occom Pond and/or Storrs Pond on Sunday June 19th. Both the two-mile and
10K runs start by the Information Booth on The Green. Refreshments and an official t-shirt which can be ordered on the
enclosed form will be available. • What to Bring: Snacks & Water
ATHLETIC BREAKFAST – Tuesday June 14 at 8:00 a.m. - Free of charge The
annual athletic breakfast takes place on Tuesday, June 14 at 8 a.m. in Thayer Hall. Join Athletic and Recreation Director,
JoAnn Harper ‘47A, coaches and alumni for a lively discussion about Dartmouth athletics. Breakfast is available
to anyone attending at a cost of $6.50 per person to be paid by the individual upon arrival. This cost covers a full
breakfast in Thayer Dining Hall’s breakfast buffet line.
WHITEWATER RAFTING – June 14, 15, 17 and 18 @ 2- 5 P.M. Cost: $30/person The
Whitewater Rafting Trip is designed to give you the opportunity to have fun with a challenging outdoor experience. Raft
Trips take place on Vermont’s White River and are rated easy class I and II level whitewater. Participants must
be over 10 years of age. • What to Wear: Please wear a short or long-sleeve shirt, long pants,
and old sneakers. You will get wet, so don’t wear your best clothes or running shoes for rafting. Participants
must wear footwear which will be secured (no flip-flops) to your feet. No barefeet allowed. Note: The river can
be cool and buggie. • What to Bring: Windbreaker/Sweatshirt, Towel & a change of clothes
for after rafting, (changing facilities are primitive), Sunglasses (optional; all eyewear should have a strap), bug repellent,
snacks & water, and a day pack to carry all of this. • Everyone will be required to wear a life
vest & helmet. No exceptions. Vests & helmets will be provided. Consider a visored ball
cap under the helmet for a useful sun shield.
BEE & WASP ALLERGIES
Please alert the instructors if you or anyone
in your group are allergic to bees & wasps.
If immediate medication is necessary, BRING
IT WITH YOU.
The instructors will carry a very basic first
aid kit.
OTHER LIMITATION
Alert guides to physical limitations/injuries/problems
you have before starting the activities.
Paddling can be strenuous on the shoulders
so if you have shoulder problems.
So, please let the guides know.
• Ledyard Canoe Club students, ACA certified instructors, will oversee the program.
HORSEBACK RIDING AND TRAIL RIDES Dartmouth Riding Center at “The Morton
Farm” on Laramie Road in picturesque Etna, NH is offering small group trail rides during Dartmouth Reunions! Come
enjoy the beautiful trails of Dartmouth’s equestrian center. Horseback riding is available to alumni and their
guests at the Dartmouth Riding Center. Please contact Dartmouth Riding Center directly for times and availability.

must be over 9 years of age. • Riders of intermediate ability are invited to take part in a guided trail
ride. • There is a maximum of 5 people per session / space is limited / make reservations early. •
Riders must wear ASMT-SEI approved riding helmets which are available at the farm. • Riders must
wear long pants and shoes with a heel are required.
VISIT ROBINSON HALL, home of the Dartmouth Outing Club! Students and Staff
will be available during the reunion period to customize or advise you on adventures you can take while you are here!
