Every now and then someone stands up and champions and idea.

He conceived and honchoed the publication of
Herb West's Farewell Address.
In so doing, he even improved upon a book
that has been long out of print.

Further,
it must be stated that he did so inspite of some
very strong opinions which ran counter to his
positive view of the professor.
Little known by most, Herb West was responsible
for the nacent idea which today is known as
The Collections at Rauner Library,
our Class' defining project.
For this reason and others, which Classmates can relate,
Herb West is recognized in our website.
